MHAC hosts DAV National Skating Championship (U-19)

JAMMU, Oct 22: MHAC School Nagbani Jammu was entrusted with the responsibility of hosting cluster level speed Roller skating under-19 Boys and girls competition for various schools of Punjab and J&K.
The school wore a festive look. The inaugural ceremony was organized and graced by the School Principal, Sween Puri. The celebration started with the warm welcome of guests by presenting bouquets. DAV Gaan and chanting of vedic mantras created a pious and spiritual atmosphere. Principal of the host School, Sween Puri welcomed the participants hailing from various schools along with the coaches. In her Address Sween Puri laid stress on the importance of sports in a student's life and encouraged the students to involve themselves in various outdoor sports and activities rather than getting distracted by various technical gadgets. She asked the students to improve their happiness quotient by involving themselves in activities that improved their sense of well being. Laying stress on physical activities she encouraged the students to take up at least one sport so as to remain physically and mentally happy and help inculcate a sense of responsibility, remain focused & determined to achieve their goals. The school flag was hoisted after which the participants presented the March Past followed by declaring the championship Meet open. The colourful balloons were left in the air.
Four officials under the supervision of Kamal Anand (Coach , M.A. Stadium and official of speed technical committee of RSFI), officiated the tournament. Bhupinder Singh, (General Secretary, District Roller Skating, Pathankoat) was the main observer.
The competition ended with a grand valedictory function. The main attraction of the day was a magnificent march past of the athletes followed by distribution of medals and trophies to the winners & all the participants. The sports extravaganza was drawn to a close with a ceremonial covering of the flag & thereafter declaring the meet close.
