Kumar for ensuring best healthcare facilities to people

SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar reviewed the functioning of government health institutions during a meeting convened with the senior officers of the department, here today.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education department Atal Dulloo, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Kunzes Dolma, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Samir Mattoo, CMO Srinagar Dr Talat Jabeen and Principal GMC Srinagar Dr SamiaRashid.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on patient's footfall in the health institutions, facilities being provided to the visiting patients including availability of X-Ray, USG, Micro Biology and other necessary investigations, existing infrastructure, requirement of additional infrastructure at identified institutions, staff strength etc.
Director Health Services Kashmir and CMO Srinagar briefed the Advisor about the day to day functioning of health institutions located at different parts in Srinagar district. They also informed the meeting about the details of requirement for additional infra at health centres to deal with the number of patients visiting these centres to avail health facilities.
The Advisor asked them to regularly visit these health facilities and monitor their functioning so as to ensure people are getting best medical treatment. With regard to the welfare of doctors and other staff especially posted in far flung areas, he asked Principal Secretary Health to take necessary measures in this regard. Meanwhile, Director Health Services Jammu also gave an overview of working of the health institutions in Jammu division.
