Annual sports meet organised

Jammu, Oct 25: MV International School organized 'Annual Sports Meet-2018' in School premises today.
Satish Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, Government of India was the Chief Guest of the celebration. Vijay Saraf, Secretary Amar Singh Club; Ashok Puri, Director Puri Exclusive and Mohinder Gupta, Director Mahindra and Mahindra graced the occasion as Special Guests.
Chairman of School Hira Lal Abrol, Director Gourav Abrol and Principal Kundan Lal Dogra were also present during the program. Annual Sports Meet of the school is a rare show of talent, team work, fair play and respect for others. The participants exhibited great zeal and fervor to make the event a great success.
Chief Guest took the salute of a well synchronised 'March Past' of the Students' Council, Scouts and Guides, the four houses The Maestros, The Victors, The Invincibles and The Supremes. The Meet was declared 'Open' by the Chief Guest. Energetic athletes from classes 3rd to 12th displayed lots of confidence and the spirit of sportsmanship as they competed with their peers in 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, relay race, jumping, javelin throw, shot put etc. Nearly 200 medals were won by the best performers of the day.
The Guests gave away the medals to the winners. S K Sharma, in his address inspired the children to develop a great mind set for sports and to lay importance on healthy ways of living life. He motivated them to give importance to sports and inspire others to stay away from drugs and unhealthy practices. 'Rolling Trophy for Best House in Sports' was won by The Victors House and 'Rolling Trophy for Best Marching Contingent' was won by The Invincibles House. 'Best Male Athlete Trophy' was lifted by Ashish Singh of Class 12th and 'Best Female Athlete Trophy' was won by Prinka Slathia of Class 9th.
Colourful display of skills in Gymnastics; Yoga; Self Defence and Dance Drills were presented by students to mark the celebrations of the day. Chairman of School applauded the efforts of students and teachers for making the event a huge accomplishment.
