| DPS Nagbani holds Roll Ball Championship | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 25: Fit mind can only reside in a fit body, keeping this maxim in mind the students of DPS Nagbani took a very enthusiastic part in the Inter House Roll Ball Championship held in the school.
Roll Ball is a sport similar to basket ball or handball that is played on inline roller skates. The game consists of two teams of six players each, five field players and a goal tender. Players move towards the goal while passing on dribbling the ball similar to a basket ball, with the aim of throwing the ball into a goal post at each end of the court. The team that is able to score more goals wins the game. The school grounds were resonating with the sounds of skates and bouncing balls as the players were eager to show their skating speed and the skills of passing the ball all at once. Despite it being a new sport and playing for the first time, the players in the competition gave an outstanding performance.
The winning team was awarded merit certificates by the principal of the school R. K.Verma who said that the initiative of this competition aims to reach out to the students to instill the spirit of sportsmanship into their young minds keeping the sentiment of success alive in their hearts. |
