JAMMU, Oct 26: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta said that it is the duty of the Government to provide access to water, electricity, affordable homes, education, road connectivity, drainage system and health services and BJP is committed to provide area based Smart Solutions to infrastructure and services in area-based development .
He said this during his tour to Ekta Vihar of Gangyal area in Gandhi Nagar constituency, and its adjoining areas to launch various development works. He kick-started the Black topping of the Roads and bye lanes.
He said that number of road macadamization and up-gradation works have been taken up with special thrust on the use of quality material. Highlighting the achievements of present dispensation in PWD, PHE and other sectors, Kavinder Gupta apprised that more than 600 KM road length has been upgraded, more than 385 transformers and 14000 new electric poles have been installed in Gandhi Nagar constituency in the past three years besides many more projects are in pipeline.
He said that since the Jammu city has been included in smart city by the Government of India has released Rs. 40 Crore to get started with the works. He emphasised on the role the inhabitants of the area to cooperate with the departments regarding illegal and unauthorised constructions.
He further said that before starting of any new construction people must get the authorisation from the concerned departments as per the Jammu master plan so that the Government agencies can provide all the basic amenities in proper and cost effective way.
Gupta also thanked the public of Gangyal ward 56 for electing its Candidate Baldev Bilowria to the JMC and assured that now onwards more works of public importance shall be taken.
The people informed Former Deputy Chief Minister about their grievances and problems pertaining to up-gradation of power infrastructure, sanitation and extension of existing nallah in the area. Responding to the demands put forth by the locals regarding various development issues in the area, the Former Deputy Chief Minister assured that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority and assured that the genuine demand shall be forwarded to the concerned authorities for early approvals and execution of the works.
