6 gamblers held, Rs 16,300 recovered

Samba, Nov 2: Samba police today claimed to have six gamblers and recovered Rs 16,300 as stake money from their possession.
Police spokesman said that acting on a tip off about gambling in the area, a Police Party of Vijaypur police station headed by Inspector Rajinder Sharma-SHO Vijaypur under the close supervision of DySP S. Baljeet Singh-SDPO Vijaypur raided the gambling spot and arrested 06 gamblers from Ward No. 04, Vijaypur alongwith stake money of Rs. 16,300 and playing cards.
Police identified the arrested gamblers as Hera Lal, Darsh Ram, Dadu Ram, Sita Ram, Kashi Ram and Rakesh all residents of Chhatishgarh and presently staying at Vijaypur. Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under section 13 of Gambling Act at Vijaypur police station. It is worthwhile to mention here that District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma-SSP Samba has arrested 19 gamblers alongwith stake money of Rs 42,575 during the last five days and further committed to wipe out social crime from the society.
