Two day inter-school volleyball tournament organized

KATHUA, Nov 2: As an integral part of Sahodaya School Complex Jammu Chapter, Indian Public School (Kidzee), Kathua organized a two day volleyball tournament for girls in the school.
A total of eight teams in two categories i.e. U-17 & U-19, from various CBSE schools of Jammu Zone, participated in the tournament.
The tournament was declared open by Kirti Sharma, SHO Women Cell, Kathua. She in her address to the teams she motivated them and asked them to cultivate team discipline and team spirit. Sonal Verma, KAS was the Guest of Honour and appreciated all the schools for uplifiting the girls' teams and pushing them forward.
Nasir Khan, Additional SP, District Kathua was the chief guest at the valedictory session. After the event he appreciated Sahodaya for the right kind of opportunity being given to all the students and also highlighted the importance of provisions of the government for the aspiring players. He also said that he was overwhelmed by the competitive skills of the teams and wished them all the success for the future.
In the U/17 category the team from APS, BD Bari won the winners trophy, and Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu won the runners up trophy. In the U/19 category the team again from APS BD, Bari won the winners trophy and JKPS, Kunjwani bagged the runners up trophy.
The school is grateful to the participating schools namely; JK Public School, Kunjwani; APS BD Bari; Jammu Sanskriti, Jammu; GD Goenka School, Jammu; Jammu Sanskriti, Kathua; Mount Litera Zee School, Kathua.
A special thanks is being extended to the Department of Youth Service and Sports for sending the official for the tournament, who have constantly been with the school and handled the event. We thank the officials namely: Uttam Singh, Vijay Kumar, Kewal Krishan and Radhey Shyam. Without their support it would not have been a smooth sail.
