jammu, Nov 3: A public meeting was organized at BSF Campus Paloura, Jammu. The meeting was attended by more than 250 various public personalities of Kathua, Hiranagar, Samba, Arnia , R S Pura, Mad, Ghajansu and Pargwal border area. Ram Awtar, IG BSF Jammu Ftr addressed the meeting and discussed the various matters related with border management affecting the border population. IG Ftr insisted upon that our border population is key elements of national border security aspect. It was emphasised that optimum border security level cannot be achieved without active participation of border population. It was exhorted that people living on the border area are the eyes and ears of the force to face the multi-dimensional challenge of border management. It is matter of pride that whenever any anti national element operated in the Jammu border area, border population not only immediately approached security forces, but provided whatever the possible assistence from their side. IG Ftr also discussed the various activities taken up by BSF in border area like medical camp & blood donation camps to provide medical cover to far flung border area, games competitions and sports items distribution to encourage the out door games and sports man ship among school children as a character building move, vocational job oriented courses to enable youth self- dependent and drug awareness seminar to spread awareness against drug abuse. |
