JAMMU, Nov 3: The officials of Excise Department at Toll Post Lakhanpur foiled a major attempt of smuggling when they detected a consignment of 450 kgs bhukki in a vehicle bearing Registration No JK03B-4481 declaring fresh fruit as goods.
The whole operation was supervised by Ashish Kumar Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur and carried out by Excise and Taxation Officers Sandeep Gupta, Aamir Ayaiz Rather, Varinder Pawar along with team of Excise Inspectors Rajesh Verma, Amit Sharma, Mansoor Ahmed, Dheeraj Kumar and Mohd Saleem Malik, Excise Sub-Inspectors Susheel Sharma, Manvinder Pal Singh, Sheikh Touseef and Ravi Kumar and Excise Guard Mohd Iqbal. Talat Parvez Rohella, Excise Commissioner, J&K Government appreciated the efforts of team of Toll Post Lakhanpur in detecting the instant contraband item and also enjoined them to work with more zeal and enthusiasm and to carry these types of special drives more in future to thwart nefarious design of smugglers. |
