JKNPP chairman alleges ex-MLA manipulating CDF releases
12/8/2018 8:51:32 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 8: Despite clear cut orders issued by the govt not to allow any releases of CDF after the dissolution of legislative assembly on 22-11-2018, it was scandalous to note the officers still obliging the Ex-MLAs regarding releases of CDF grants even after the cut off date, said Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman.
He said that not only were these unscrupulous officers entertaining the requisitions of the Ex-MLAs for release of pending CDF grants but several back dated orders were being issued with impunity by fudging the records. There were further reports of some anti dated administrative approvals and sanctions having been accorded by corrupt officers in league with Ex-MLAs so as to swindle the un-utilized CDF grants which needed a through probe through vigilante organizations, said Singh.
Urging upon the Governor to ensure transparency and accountability in the higher echelons of power especially in the conduct of erstwhile law makers, Singh sought a high level probe into all releases of CDF effected in violation of govt orders and prescribed guidelines.
NPP leader called for strict vigil and due surveillance over all such irregular practices in view of nexus of politicians and officers. Singh called upon the bureaucrats not to succumb to the political pressures of the politicians who were desperately exploring ways and means to use their accumulated CDF funds for vested interests despite having lost the power to do so. Reminiscing the infamous "CDF for vote" scam during the erstwhile govt which was prominently covered by media, Singh pointed out that the Governor NN Vohra had himself ordered an enquiry into the abuse of CDF grants by MLAs at the fag end of their tenure for promotion of their political interests which unfortunately had been thrown under the carpet by the bureaucracy at the behest of corrupt politicians.
