Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 9: A top leader of the Peoples Democratic Party is enjoying unusually cordial relations with the National Conference.
The PDP leader who hails from north Kashmir had been avoiding party meetings for the last few months and was said to be having strained relations with the party top brass.
Sources said the PDP leader has been looking into the prospects of joining arch rival NC in the coming weeks after having got an offer in this regard.
Sources said the NC is aware that the leader in question is not in good terms with the PDP and thus has decided that the "opportunity needs to be cashed."
It was reliably learnt that the Abdullahs have been personally in contact with the PDP leader and have assured him of "good prospects" if the joins the NC.
The PDP leader who enjoys good rapport in his home constituency in Baramulla district is understood to have sought time from the NC to think over the offer made to him. Sources said the PDP leader was feeling that the Muftis had sidelined him in the previous government.
A source in the PDP however said the party president Mehbooba Mufti is planning to personally meet the party leader to resolve the differences with him if any.
"She(Mehbooba) doesn't want any more of disintegration and wants to retain her old guards," said a source close to the Muftis.
The leader from north Kashmir is likely to quit PDP when the party has already been facing rebellion.
Within a month, three of the senior leaders of the PDP including Imran Ansari, Abid Ansari and Haseeb Drabu have already left the PDP.
Even though PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig had also hinted at leaving the party, Mehbooba Mufti personally visited his residence in Srinagar "to defuse the tension with her old guard." As per the latest reports, Baig has given up his plans of joining Peoples Conference led by Sajad Gani Lone.
Despite repeated attempts the PDP leader in question couldn't be contacted for comments.
