Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Dec 11: Appointment of Dr. Hina Bhat as Chairperson of Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) in Jammu & Kashmir continues to come in for sharp criticism from political as well as non-political outfits of the state.
All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) has taken strong exception to appointment of Dr. Hina as Chairperson of KVIB and said the appointment made on basis of 'politics' is totally uncalled for. The AMCCC has termed the appointment as highly politically 'motivated' and demanded its immediate roll back.
The reservations about the appointment of Dr. Hina were discussed in a meeting of AIMCCC held at Jagti Township and the same was presided over by AIMCCC Chief, Desh Ratten Pandita. All the executive members of the Committee took part in the meeting and expressed their dismay over the appointment of Dr. Hina as Chairperson of KVIB. Pandita said that it is unfortunate in Jammu & Kashmir that influential people use approach and get direct benefits in all aspects. He said on the other side the poor people continue to face lot of problems and there is no end to their miseries as well as sufferings.
"The people who have sacrificed a lot for the state and the country are being ignored by the present dispensation at the state as well as central level. It is a shame for the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) that the party is following the path set out by its predecessors when it comes to providing the amenities of life to the marginalized as well as poor communities," said Pandita.
The AIMCCC Chief said that in the past political parties like National Conference, Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) exploited the sentiments of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that as on date there is no difference between these parties and BJP and the same got reflected by the 'rehabilitation' of Dr. Hina as Chairperson of KVIB. "The BJP leaders are supporting the rehabilitation of illegal persons despite the fact that these people are hated by pro-poor people. The appointment of Dr. Hina should be cancelled at the earliest and it is high time for the Governor led administration to take steps on merit and not on basis of political compulsion," said Pandita. The AIMCCC Chief also took exception over the projection of former minister and legislator Sajad Gani Lone as the chief ministerial candidate by BJP in run up to the next assembly elections in the state. He said that some of the BJP central leaders are taking wrong decisions since they are wrongly fascinated by some politicians who have very little contribution in politics of Jammu & Kashmir.
