BJP 'lacks courage' to announce next CM would be from Jammu?

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 11: Bharatiya Janata Party is finding it hard to address the concerns of its constituency i.e. Jammu region. The saffron party is finding it hard to coin slogans to woo the voters. It's not even sure about BJP's chief ministerial candidate.
National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah has dared the BJP to announce its chief ministerial candidate and then contest the forthcoming Assembly elections.
An insider told Early Times that BJP won't announce its CM candidate as every Jammu based BJP leader believes that he should be the Chief Minister. "If party high command announces only one name it would trigger a discord within the party. BJP wants to avoid any friction among the leaders and it won't react to Omar's statement," the insider added.
He said on the other hand BJP wants to keep Sajad Lone happy by making him believe that he is party's face in the Valley and he would be elevated to the top post if the BJP-Peoples Conference combine are able to win enough seats in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
An analyst said that BJP leadership should stop sailing in two boats and muster courage to tell Sajad Lone that if BJP wins more seats than Peoples Conference then the Chief Minister would be from Jammu region and he would be a Hindu. "It's unfortunate that despite BJP having no compulsions at present the saffron party is still leaving no stone unturned to appease Kashmir centric leaders and is once again playing "second fiddle" this time to the Peoples Conference, which had just won two seats in the 2014 Assembly polls," he added.
A politician said, "The emergence of local parties in Jammu has unnerved the BJP. The party leaders know it very well that these parties can give a tough fight to BJP even in its bastions. After losing power BJP leaders have been left clueless they are caught in a dicey situation. When they were reaping the fruits of power they stayed away from the people who had voted for them. They failed to highlight the issues which touched the skin of a common man in Jammu region. In fact entire BJP leadership had surrendered before the Peoples Democratic Party, its coalition partner."
He said, "BJP leaders are pampering Sajad Lone to remain on the safe side. They know it very well that winning 25 Assembly seats from Jammu region this time around won't be easy and the BJP would have to join the hands with other parties to form the government. One can understand that BJP is on the weak wicket but it needs to show courage and declare who would be the Chief Minister if party forms the government after the next assembly elections."
