Poonch, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Insaaf Movement today held a workers' meeting in Poonch to urge upon the governments that the name of Jammu division should be changed from Jammu. The meeting was chaired by Javid Iqbal Reshi, the chairman of the movement, in which members including vice president Ab Rashid Shahpuri, working general secretary Tanveer Ahmed, treasurer Saheem Jaffar, Mohd Azeem Bajar,, Molvi Azam and others said, as the name of Kashmir and Ladakh is not with the name of any particular district then why Jammu province of named with a district's name? They further said, nine districts other than Jammu are ignored in all governments' schemes issued for Jammu province and single district Jammu is taking the full advantage of whole province. They further said, if government failed to change the name of Jammu then other two provinces Peer Panchal and Chanab be formed at earliest. Javid Reshi on the occasion demanded separate parliamentary constituency for Peer Panchal and Chanab regions. |
