| Pakistan provokes again, Army officer martyred in sniper attack along LoC in Kupwara | | | Srinagar: Pakistan provoked India again on Friday when it violated ceasefire again along the Line of Control in Kupwara. Sources said it was a sniper attack and one Army officer lost his life in the ceasefire violation. Indian Army retaliated to the attack, sources added.
Earlier this month too, an Army soldier was killed in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army. Soldiers on the Pakistani side had resorted to "unprovoked" firing along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on December 06.
According to Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia, Pakistani troops resorted to use of automatics and mortar shells. A civilian house was also damaged in the shelling that took place in Kamalkote area. |
