Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 3: Ashok Sharma, former legislator and Coordinator, AICC Vichar Vibhag sought personal intervention of State Governor for redressal of genuine demands of protesters while joining the indefinite protest demonstration started by SOS International which entered day 8 today at Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
As per press statement issued, he said that the Congress government had passed POJK Displaced Persons package in the year 2014 was the first relief given to the displaced persons and during the tenure of BJP-PDP government the package given by the Congress Government was reduced intentionally less then ¼ by the BJP-PDP government which is clear discrimination with the displaced persons, even the manifesto of BJP during 2014 elections were also a counterfeit for alluring votes from the Displaced families.
"BJP has betrayed the POJK displaced persons the most and compelled them to teach lesson to the party in forthcoming elections" he added. He further said that the demands related to POJK displaced people which include implementation of POJK DPs package passed by NC-Congress cabinet in 2014 in toto, implementation of uniform policy for all the migrants, displaced communities, establishment of corridors for POJK displaced people to visit their religious places and shrines in PoK, restoration of 1/3rd i.e., 8 seats lying vacant for POJK areas in Legislative Assembly, inclusion of 5300 displaced families living outside the J&K in the ambit of package for POJK displaced people and return of cash deposits of PoK displaced people lying in the J&K Bank, Mirpur Branch are genuine demands and should be redressed by the government.
