Poonch, Jan 3: Office of Block Development Office Balakote faces shortage of staff, sources said here today.
They said Balakote block consists of 15 panchayats and to prepare work bills of various works under government schemes have no permanent junior Engineer to look into.
They said the concerned permanent JE Salim Malik is seen once in couple of months in the office. His presence in the office is an good as it yet the payments in favor of the workers remain unpaid due to absence of permanent JE , They added.
They alleged the works under various schemes in the block were incomplete for the last two years because the bills were not cleared due to constant absence of permanent JE Early Times learnt from sources that the concerned JE Salim Malik was a Jammu resident and pays a visit to his office in Balakote once in a blue moon.
Meanwhile the locals alleged that two technical assistants in Block Balakote were allotted 5 panchayats and 3 Panchayats respectively while a drafts man was allotted 7 panchayats which was a sheer violation of MGNREGA norms. They said that there was prevailing a mess in the office of Block Development Officer Balakote due to shortage of staff.
The block which falls close to Line of Control has been suffering at the hands of officials of Block Development Office said a social worker Ex Kazafi adding we urge the concerned ACD and BDO to pay a heed to our demand and appoint a new permanent Junior Engineer in BDO's office who will look into the pending bills of works carried out by the laborers. They also urged upon XEn (Tech) Poonch to look into the matter.
ACD Poonch Abdul Qayoom Mir told Early Times that he has received Complaint against the Salim Malik the permanent JE and soon an official inquiry will be taken against him for his constant absence from duty while as new permanent JE will be posted in spite of the present incumbent he added |
