UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: Udhampur Police arrested one accused for committing rape in Panchari area of district Udhampur.
Giving details, Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said a written complaint was received at Police Station Pancheri from one lady complainant, resident of Kothi laid Lower Meer, Tehsil Panchari regarding commission of her rape by one accused of Udhampur, who dragged her to a nearby jungle and committed rape on her while she was returning home from Kaithgali towards Kothilaid. After committing rape, the accused threatened her of dire consequences, if she reported the matter to police or anybody other else.
Based on the complaint of lady, a case FIR No. 61/18 U/S 376/506 RPC was registered at Police Station Panchari and accordingly police team of Police Station Pancheri led by Insp. Urfaan Parvez SHO PS Panchari under the supervision of Himat Singh, DY.SP DAR DPL Udhampur swung into action, conducted raids in some suspected locations and ultimately arrested the above named accused from Pathi area of District Udhampur. With the arrest of above named accused, police solved the instant rape case. Further case proceedings are going on. |
