Damaged Ritti foot bridge endangers life

Udhampur, Jan 3: Seven months on, a foot bridge that connects Ritti Village of District Udham-pur to three Village awaits repair.
The damaged bridge, locals said, endangers human life as thousands of people cross it every day.
The students in particular have expressed concern. According to them, reaching school has become a nightmare as the damaged bridge frightens them.
Varsha Devi, a student said crossing the damaged bridge is a compulsion as this is the only route to her school.
The locals, Chattar Singh said have taken up the matter with the concerned authorities time and again without results. "It seems nobody is there to listen to our woes," he said.
Girdhari Lal Padha Sarpanch Ritti Panchayat while expressing dismay over the indifference of the authorities has sought immediate repair of the damaged bridge.
