Registrars, demonstrators faculty selected for new Medical Colleges

Jammu, Jan 3: Health and Medical Education Department in its continuous effort to start five New Medical Colleges in the State got a major success with selection of 160 Registrars and Demonstrators in the New Medical Colleges i.e. Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Kathua and Rajouri.
The posts of Registrars / Demonstrators in different Non-Clinical and Clinical specialties viz; the departments of Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Gynae, Orthopaedics', ENT, Dermatology, Anaesthesia, Radiology, Paediatric Surgery, Medicine and Psychiatry were advertised and the selection was made by the respective Principals of the New Medical Colleges. GMC Anantnag and Baramulla selected 41 and 42 Registrars / Demonstrators respectively, whereas in Jammu Division GMC Doda, Kathua and Rajouri selected 19, 34 and 24 Registrars / Demonstrators respectively.
With the joining of Registrars / Demonstrators and faculty members in New Govt. Medical Colleges the long pending demand of shortage of doctors in these institutions shall overcome and patient care will improve reasonably. The process for recruitment of other Gazetted staff including faculty members and Non-Gazetted staff under SRO 384 has also been initiated and shall be completed in next one month, which will help to overcome the shortage of staff in the New Medical Colleges before the next Medical Council of India inspection.
