Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 3: During this winter break while majority of children have opted to stay at home, lucky few are venturing Natrang's Cartoon making workshop for children and are exploring new horizions in the world of creativity and innovation.
The first ever cartoon making workshop for children is underway at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu in which prominent Cartoonist of the country Chander Shekhar who is popularly known as Bunty Cartoonist- a son of the soil who brought Jammu to the National/International limelight through his unique creations of cartoons is conducting this unique workshop and is introducing the younger generation of artists to a wonderful world of caricatures and cartoons.
It is pertinent to mention that Bunty Cartoonist holds the credit of curating the 1st ever International exhibition of cartoons which was organized both in Jammu and Srinagar under the aegis of Indian Council for Cultural Relations. The focus of workshop is to attract the interest of children towards this greatest art of cartooning which can magically enhance the creativity and imagination of the children.
Speaking about the art of cartooning, the Director of Natrang, Padamshree Balwant Thakur said that cartoons have always attracted the child's eye and has been an important part in enhancing a child's imagination. Cartoons have been seen as 'humour with a pinch of salt' that not only is a creative medium to communicate but also a visual semiotics and visual persuasion medium. In today's world when majority of children's time is being eaten up by the smart phones/TVs and they pushing themselves to mental blockades, such participation will certainly help them in coming out of that caged life to a world of innovation and creativity.
The participants who attended the inaugural session included Divyansh Bharti, Divum Bharti, Kartik Rajput, Suhani Gupta, Haryansh Gupta, Medha Gupta, Aaria Zia Sharma, Ojas Kapur, Mannan Soni, Mannat Soni, Samaaira Dewan, Aditri Dewan, Sushant Singh Charak, Vidhi Kapur, Saumya Kapur, Himashi Punia, Nirjara Jain, Sahaja Jain and Aditi Gupta
