Samba, Jan 22: Continuing its endeavour to thwart the evil designs of the bovine smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma-SSP Samba succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid in the jurisdiction of police station Vijaypur and rescued 05 bovines.
Police spokesman said that acting on reliable information received at Vijaypur police station that bovine animals are being smuggled towards Srinagar, a Police team of Vijaypur police station headed by Inspector Rajinder Sharma-SHO Vijaypur under the supervision of DySP S. Baljeet Singh-SDPO Vijaypur raised a surprise Naka at Ramgarh road, Vijaypur and signalled to stop Tata Mobile vehicle bearing number JK02CA-5032 which was coming from Kathua side via Border road.
The driver on seeing the police party accelerated the vehicle. As a result of which the driver lost his control and the vehicle skidded off in the ditch at Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur.
"During checking of the vehicle 05 cattle found laden in it and all the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place", said spokesman adding that the vehicle used for transporting the bovines without any permission was seized on spot. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 11/2019 under section 279/188 of RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Vijaypur police station and investigation started. |
