Rajouri, Jan 22: With the callous attitude of the Education Department, the post of Zonal Education Officer Lower Hathal of tehsil Sunderbani of District Rajouri has been lying vacant for the last one and half years.
Sources told Early Times that although the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Devak of Tehsil Sunderbani has been given temporary charge of ZEO Lower Hathal but due to this move of the department, the administrative work of the school has been suffering enormously as the Principal is not in a position give time to the post.
"The distance between the Government Higher Secondary School Devak and Zonal Education Office Lower Hathal is about 30 kms making it impossible for the principal to give time at school," they said adding that instead of making permanent arrangement of ZEO, the department is taking this issue lightly by giving charge to Principal despite availability of efficient officers.
If sources are to be believed the Principal has very close relations with Chief Education Officer of the district, who appointed him as incharge ZEO Lower Hathal.
People of the zone appealed the Governor SP Malik to look into the matter by passing direction to appoint permanent ZEO. It has been learnt that in absence of the permanent ZEO, the teachers of many schools in the zone Lower Hathal are taking teaching non seriously and remain absent turn wise in connivance with other teachers. |
