70th Republic Day celebrated with pomp, gaiety across Jammu

Jammu, Jan 27: Various social, political, educational organizations celebrated 70th Republic Day with pomp and gaiety across Jammu.
Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervor at Hanuman Dham in R. S Pura, Jammu. A large number of people participated in the function. On the occasion Sham Choudhary, Ex-MLA Bhartiya Janta Party, Mahant Narinder Dass ji Maharaj and Sunil Sharma, Chief Organiser of Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti hoisted the tricolor. Speaking on the occasion, Sharma called for kindling the innate feeling of patriotism among the people, particularly the youth, and also to generate massive awareness about the events and symbols related to the freedom struggle of India. Speaking on the occasion Rajesh Verma Spokesman of the Samiti advised the gathering to work hard with dedication for progress and prosperity of the nation.
The 70 Republic Day was celebrated with national enthusiasm and gaiety in Jammu by the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC). President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri hoisted National flag which was followed by National Anthem in the presence of social, culture activists of Pacca Danga and Moti Bazar at Pacca Danga Chowk, where a large number of people from different walks of life were also participated it. B.S. Jamwal (Ex. D.C. Samba) was presided over the function. Prominent social activist and well known personality of the area, Rajinder Kumar (Raju), Bawa Bhair Devsathan Trust General Secretary Ramesh Sharma, Kamal Sharma (Ex. SP. Police) and Joginder Singh Jamwal were the guest of honors. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Subash Shastri threw light on the importance of Republic Day.
Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), All Jammu and Kashmir Rehri, Khokha, Fhari Trade Union workers unfurled the national flag at two separate functions organized at Transport Nagar and Janipur Jammu.
Neeraj Gupta Zonal President Jammu JKNPP unfurled the tricolour and distributed sweets among the people.
Others who were present on the occasion were Amar Chand, Bablu Ram, Ramesh Kumar, Mela Ram,Jagdish Singh Zonal Vice President Surat Lal Secretary, Darwara Singh, Sonu, Randhir Singh Salathia, Gurnam Singh, Parminder Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Parmanand, Kuldeep Singh Etc,.
Shri Krishna Sangeet Vidyalya (SKSV) celebrated the day in a function organized at Noida, wherein Principal of Vidyalya hoisted the national flag at school premises.
During this function, children carried tricolour in hands sang national anthem and patriotic songs depicting the message of unity and oneness.

The main function organized at its Corporate Office Jammu was presided over by the Managing Director of the Company M S Babu, who unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem and his address to the gathering. In his address, he congratulated the employees on Republic day. He also shared the progress of construction activities at projects, especially of Pakal Dul HE Project (1000 MW) where Main Access Tunnel has been completed ahead of schedule. He was also happy to share that the 624 MW Kiru HE Project is expected to be started soon, which will accelerate economic growth and development of Kishtwar region. Babu beseeched cooperation of all including the local population and called the employees to maintain high level of integrity to create a special image of the company for achieving the vision of the Company.
Republic day celebrations were also held at Pakal Dul HE Project, Kiru HE Project and Kwar HE Project at Kishtwar.
Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a function at Digiana park and hoisted the tricolour. Sub Inspector Digiana Kali Charan was the chief guest on the occasion, who requested the youth to keep promoting the feeling of nationalism among the young brigade of the state.
Vidash Dalmotra was organisational speaker on the occasion. Parteek Raina Joint Secretary, Vinayak Mangotra also spoke on the occasion.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System (NRTS) -II celebrated 70th Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety and enthusiasm. JP Singh, Executive Director, NRTS -II, who was chief guest on the occasion, unfurled the flag. Senior officials including employees, their families and children were present on the occasion.
In his address, Singh gave a brief account of the milestones achieved by POWERGRID in general and NRTS -II in particular. He urged upon the employees to continue to serve the organization with dedication as it is this quality that has and will continue to be the main factor in the growth of POWERGRID. Fancy dress show by children and patriotic songs by members of Mahila Samiti and children of the employees, fun games for employees and fete was organized to mark the occasion. Later, the chief guest gave away the prizes to the participants.
Talab Tillo Shopkeepers Association organized a function in the main bazaar where a large number of youth participated in the flag hoisting ceremony.
Ankush Abrol Vice-President Youth National Conference (YNC) was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Abrol stressed need for preserving and promoting secular ethos, saying unity in diversity is the biggest strength of the nation.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Neeraj Bhagat SHO Nowabad, Punjab Singh DTI Traffic, Vikrant Singh Incharge Talab Tillo Post, Amit Sharma Jt Secretary YNC, President Talab Tillo Shopkeepers Association, office bearers of YNC, and Vikram gupta Jt Secretary YNC Jammu West.
The Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association celebrated 70th Republic Day yesterday. The Patron of the Association V P Sharm GSI (Retd) & President SS Wazir IPS ( Retd) jointly unfurled the Tricolor amidst national anthem. The function was held at the Day Care Centre for senior citizens at Exhibition Ground here which is maintained by the Association. A large number of members of the CGPWA and senior citizens particiated the function. Later, the Association hosted tea party for the participants.
Dogra Sadar Sabha Bishnah unit celebrated the Republic Day here today with great enthusiasm and patriotic sprit where a large number of people from border belt and Sarpanches, Panches, Nambardars and Chowkidars participated in the function. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister & President DSS hoisted the national flag. In his address to the gathering, he extended his greetings to the people on 70th Republic and highlighted the problems and difficulties being faced by the residents of the Bishnah constituency especially the people living near the border belt who are forced to migrate due to the cross border firing by Pakistan. He impressed upon the state and the central govt. to be compassionate and take care of the people living along LOC/ IB and extend them the moral and material support.
70th Republic Day was celebrated by NHPC Regional Office, Jammu at Narwal. Employees and CISF personnel participated. On this occasion, Chander Mohan, Executive Director hoisted the tricolor. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated all present on Republic Day.
Speaking about NHPC Chander Mohan said that NHPC has an installed capacity of 7071 MW out of which 2339 MW is being Generted in the State of J&K alone. He praised Engineers and workers for their dedication and hard work for achieving generation targets. The function concluded with children presenting cultural programme.
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great joy, happiness and patriotic fervour at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowabad. It marked the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal of the institution Anita Zutshi in the presence of the members of the staff and students followed by national anthem and few patriotic songs. Sweets were distributed among all present. Thereafter, the students, staff led by the Principal left to witness Republic Day celebration at University Campus Jammu.
It's also a matter of great pleasure to know that the institution got 2nd prize in March Past. Anita Zutshi Principal of the institution congratulated Team Nowabad for this feat.
National flag hoisting ceremony in connection with 70th Republic Day held in the J.C.M.S Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu. Romesh Chander Gupta, president JCMS unfurled the flag. Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC participated as the Chief guest. Yash Paul Gupta, chief patron, Om Parkash (Kaku Shah), Shiv Partap, Dr. Mohan Lal, Arun Gupta, Ravi Rohmetra, Romesh Gupta, Balbir Gupta, Yashpaul Mukesh Gupta, OP Gupta, Gen Sec. conducted the programme. Besides many others attended the programme.
Governor Satya Pal Malik hoisted the tricolour at the State level function on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day, at the Sports Stadium of the University of Jammu. Governor inspected the parade and took the salute at an impressive march past which was commanded by Col. Baskar Singh of 1st Battalion J&K Light Infantry. The smart contingents participating in the Parade were from the Army, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, women contingent of the JKAP, J&K Police, State Disaster Response Force, Punjab Police, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise Department, SSB 7th Battalion, ex-Servicemen, NCC Boys and Girls, Bharat Scouts and Guides (Girls & Boys), Boys and Girls from various schools, Bands of Army, BSF, J&K Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police and of several Boys and Girls Schools.
