Anantnag, Jan 27: The sorry state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir Education department can be gauged from the fact that top level authorities have allowed some Resource Persons of District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Anantnag to proceed on leave instead of asking them to impart training to teachers working in schools.
As per details the School Education Department has allowed Resource Persons (permanent staff) to proceed on leave and has hired some teachers of the department, who are working in field, to conduct training programs being organized by DIET Anantnag. District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Anantnag, according details, has conducted at least four training sessions for school teachers working in field but despite having a good number of Resource Persons teachers and lecturers, DIET hired teachers who are themselves working in field to train school teachers. "Some Teachers and lecturers posted at DIET Anantnag have either gone on leave or sitting idle at Institute. They aren't attending classes and shockingly all the day their only business is to discuss politics," an insider told Early Times.
He said that teachers were even hired for Mathematics subject despite DIET Anantnag has at least five lecturers. Similarly, he said teachers were hired for English, Bio-Science, Physical-science, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Bio-Chemistry. Insiders revealed that Resource Persons posted at DIET Anantnag each year make health grounds an excuse for availing month's long leaves. "Some of them have gone to Jammu and some to Delhi," they claimed.
Sources privy to this issue said that some Resource Persons posted at DIET Anantnag were transferred last year but they managed to retain themselves.
"Most of the Resource Persons posted at DIET Anantnag are overstaying but education department fails to shift them because either they are closely associated with politicians or having links with mafia which is controlling education department across state," they added.
"How long will DIET'S be used to spoil the very objective of their establishment," questioned education department officials, they wished not be named. These officials, who spoke to Early Times alleged that higher-ups of the education department more often succumbs to the arrogance of the mafia and with each day staff including the Lecturers are becoming dull and unwilling to do any work. |
