28 bovine rescued, 6 smugglers held

Ramban, Feb 3: In continuation to its special drive against the menace of bovine smuggling launched on the directions of SSP Ramban-Anita Sharma, today Ramban police claimed to have rescued 28 bovines and arrested 6 smugglers.
Police spokesman said that police party led Inspector Vijay Kotwal- SHO Ramban under the supervision of DySP Hq Ramban Asgar Malik and Addl. SP-Sanjay Parihar raised surprise nakas near Shan Palace/Kundi, Ramban.
"During checking, 02 Vehicles bearing registration number JK19-6569 (Tata magic) and Tata mobile bearing Chassis no 6020074 got intercepted and on search rescued 05 & 08 bovine animals respectively. Similarly another vehicle bearing registration number JK14-8750 (Tata mobile) was seized from Karol and rescued 06 bovine animals.
Moreover, Inspector Ajeet Singh- SHO Dharamkund raised a naka near Sumber and rescued 05 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers.
Meanwhile, a police team led by Inspector Javed Ahmed- SHO Gool assisted by SI Sumit Sharma-incharge police post Sangaldan under supervision of Rafi Giri-SDPO Gool raised a naka at Tatapani and rescued 04 bovine animals from the smuggler. These Smugglers found carrying these bovine animals by foot towards Kashmir valley. Total 28 bovine animals have been rescued and 6 suspected bovine smugglers namely Adil Hussain of Govindpora, Sadik of Parnote, Maneer Wani of Karol, Gulzar Ahmed, Ashiq Ali both residents of Dalwa and Hakam Shah of Varnal has been taken into custody. The said vehicles have also been seized.
In this regard cases under FIR Nos. 21/19, 22/19 and 25/19, FIR No 04/19, FIR NO 06/19 under section 188 of RPC, 3 PC Act have been registered at Police Station Ramban, Dharamkund and Gool respectively.
