JVSS announces JU unit without informing the varsity

Jammu, Feb 3: Disrespe-cting the circular issued by the administration of Jammu University, Jammu Vishav-vidhyalaya Shikshak Sangh (JVSS) has recently constituted its body where faculty members of the Jammu University have been appointed as Presidents and General Secretary etc.
As per records available with Early Times, the General Body meeting of the JVSS held under the chairmanship of Dr Dev Raj Thakur State President Akhil Bhartiya Shaikshik Mahasangh announced its unit of Jammu University.
"Prof (Dr) Ajay K Taloor Department of Remote Sensing GIS, University of Jammu has been nominated as President of JVSS where as Prof (Dr) Jaspal Warwal from Distance Education as General Secretary, Dr Bindu Sangra of The Law School, Dr Sakinder Pal from department of Botany and Dr Ranjit Sharma have been nominated as Vice Presidents, Dr Bharti Parbakar from Department of Life Long Learning as Secretary, Satiya Priya from Department of Sanskrit as Cashier and Dr Manoj Heer as Incharge of Media/ Press", reads the record.
It is pertinent to mention here that a circular issued by the Registrar of Jammu University vide order no. Adm/TW/2016/4347-96 reads that "In partial modification to the Circular No. Adm/TW/2016/3950-4000 Dated 6/12/16, it is clarified for information of all the teaching faculty members that the permission of competent authority is required only in case of participation/affiliation with any political party and in the circumstances where there is a clash of interest with the University of Jammu,". It is further mentioned in the circular that for Participation/ association/affiliation with any Non- Governmental Organization (NGO), the-concerned faculty needs to inform the Registry for the same.
Sources said that the Jammu University authorities have also maintained criminal silence over the act of the JVVS.
