Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 12: A female social activist from Jammu region on Tuesday 'named and shamed' a KAS officer for stalking her on social networking site Facebook.
A Facebook user, Mukhtar A Choudhary, had sent her inappropriate messages and photographs which she used to upload on Facebook. Offended by the texts, the girl decided to teach the man a lesson by posting screenshots of his messages on social media platforms.
Facebook user, Mukhtar A Choudhary is said to be an officer of Kashmir Administrative Services, currently posted in civil secretariat Jammu in Tribal affairs Department.
The female activist's post of the screenshots went viral and according to girl, Choudhary soon became apologetic and begged her to delete the post.
Choudhary himself mentioned on his Facebook page that he is working with Jammu and Kashmir Government and is posted in GB Tribal affairs department, had his picture as his profile photograph.
The female activist deleted her post, however put out another post on her Facebook page saying that she deleted the post after the KAS officer and his family tendered apology.
Activist said that she took the step for teaching people a lesson who are habitual of sending vulgar messages to girls on Facebook.
"Such people think that they have a license to do anything," she said.
She said that after uploading the screenshots some people advised that she should have 'blackmailed' him instead of shaming him publicly.
The female activist told Early Times that she felt the officer was stalking her by sending her 'stupid' texts and her photographs which she used to upload on Facebook.
"Now I am not going to take action against him as u know in our society girls are being advised to stay silent," she said.
