SHAME: Mehbooba terms Kulgam encounter "sad," avoids condemning terrorists' action
2/24/2019 11:34:50 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 24: Pre-occupied with their schemes to dividing Jammu and Kashmir on communal lines to create fear among different sections of the society, no Kashmir based senior leaders spared time to attend wreath laying ceremony of martyr DySP Aman Thakur, who attained martyrdom after killing three JeM terrorists in Kulgam district.
Wreath laying ceremony of martyr DySP was held this evening at DPL Srinagar. Senior leaders of PDP and NC were very much present at Srinagar but they could mustered guts to attend wreath laying ceremony of the DySP, who belonged to Jammu province.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti took nearly five hours only to tweet that sad news coming in from Kulgam. Interestingly Mehbooba Mufti in her tweets has not condemned martyrdom of DySP.
"Sad news coming in from Kulgam. Am mocked & barraged with abuses for saying that dialogue is the only solution. But what will this unending cycle of violence & deaths lead to? RIP #AmanThakurDySP & the other brave hearts inc an army jawan who were killed in the encounter today", Mehbooba tweeted without mentioning even a single word to condemn terrorists' actions.
Shockingly Mehbooba termed Kulgam incident, in which three terrorists of JeM were also killed as "sad" but she has not mentioned even a single word to express condolences with the families of martyr DySP and Army jawan.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, however, tweeted, "An army jawan laid down his life in the same encounter. My condolences to the family of Ranveer Somvair of 34 RR & his colleagues. May his soul rest in peace".
"Another brave @JmuKmrPolice officer lays down his life in the course of doing his duty to the state & the nation. Aman was a young officer with a bright future ahead of him. Gone too soon. God speed Aman. May you rest in peace young brave-heart", Omar tweeted.
