Amid tension, Karwan-e Aman bus, cross LoC trade on

BARAMULLA, Feb 26: Amid escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, trade across the Line of Control continued today with high level security arrangements after which 70 trucks crossed Line of Control from both sides in Uri sector of this north Kashmir district.
Sources told Early Times that, 35 trucks from this side of Line of Control and equal number of trucks from other side carrying essential goods crossed the Line of Control and were received at TFC Salamabad Uri. Today 35 trucks carrying tomatoes, embroidery and grapes crossed the Kaman Post from Uri to the other side and 35 trucks came from the other side carrying matting, walnut and other essential goods, said sources.
It is learnt from sources that cross LoC trade is scheduled for four days a week from Tuesday to Friday, while as travel is scheduled once every week.
Notably the Karvan-e-Aman bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad resumed yesterday after it was suspended last week.
Despite tense situation in Kashmir the weekly bus left TRC Uri yesterday at 11:15 A.M for Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the border in Uri sector.
