Omar's hasty tweet strengthened Pak's blatant lie

Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 26: Soon after the Indian Air Force carried out an aerial strike at Balakote in Pakistan former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah took to twitter to question where did the jets strike.
"Unless we know which Balakote is being talked about by the Pakistani generals it's pointless speculating about what we may have hit and what fallout the airstrike will have," Omar tweeted after Pakistan said that IAF jets crossed the LoC, and dropped a "payload in haste" before returning.
"If this is Balakote in KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) it's a major incursion and a significant strike by IAF planes. However, if it's Balakote in Poonch sector, along with the LoC it's a largely symbolic strike because at this time of the year forward launch pads and militant camps are empty and non-functional," he added.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that Omar reacting hastily and putting a question mark on the authenticity of air strikes was in a bad taste. "He (Omar) should have waited for the official announcement rather than taking to the twitter. His assertion provided a chance to Pakistan to claim that jets did not intrude too deep, which was blatant lie," the analyst added.
Omar also spoke of possible fallout over the air strikes. "The problem now becomes Prime Minister Imran Khan's commitment to his country -- Pakistan will not think about responding, Pakistan will respond."
"What shape will response take? Where will the response be? Will India have to respond to Pakistan's response?," Omar Abdullah asked, voicing his concern about what happens next.
A Kashmir watcher said that Omar has been the chief minister of J&K and he should have shown some maturity rather than getting carried away by the Pakistan propaganda. "Kashmir centric politicians should realize that GoI has decided to hit the enemy hard and if Pakistan responds it would get a befitting reply."
