| DPS Nagbani holds an interactive session on 'School Bus Safety' | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: An interactive session for the drivers and conductors was held in Delhi Public School Nagbani, Jammu - (West).
The aim of this session was to ensure a safer future for the students in school buses. School transport is an integral part of the establishment. Proper knowledge regarding the correct and safe use of school transport is very essential to everyone to put a curb due to ignorance and lack of knowledge regarding road discipline. As a part of an endeavor to inculcate sense of road safety among the drivers and the conductors, efforts are made to organize this road safety awareness programme.
The session was conducted by R K Verma, Principal of the school in the presence of Keshav Singh Sambyal, transport Incharge of the school. He started the session by discussing about the safety norms as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court guidelines. He talked about the various activities that the school organizes to create awareness among the students. He said that teachers are also playing important role in educating the students about the various safety norms. The school authorities are organizing painting competitions, quizzes and role plays on regular basis to create awareness among the students and the staff.
Overall it was a very informative session on 'School Bus Safety' and 'Safety of School Children'. Light was also thrown on how a mix of technology and structural features can ensure safety of the students in the school buses. Verma discussed various road safety activities which could be incorporated in the school enabling the children to become aware of road safety rules and norms.
The interactive discussion with the drivers and conductors helped in addressing various queries from them in this session. He appreciated the efforts of the Transport Incharge, Drivers, Conductors and the staff of the school who are making every possible efforts to ensure the safety of the students. |
