| Transporters hold protest against ARTO Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, Mar 5: Transporters' Union Poonch today staged a strong protest against Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch.
As a mark of protest, the Union suspended the movement of transport for the full day in entire district Poonch.
During the protest, the agitated transporters raised slogans against the transport department and blamed ARTO Poonch and his staff for negligence.
A transporter Farooq Ahmed Guresta alleged that the ARTO is irresponsible adding that he is one of the most negligent ARTOs in the history of Poonch Transport Department.
Guresta alleged that the ARTO is hardly punctual and regular towards his responsibilities. He along with other transporters appealed to the Governor to transfer the ARTO otherwise the protest will continue. They also warned to boycott election duties saying that the election authorities don't pay their wages well in time. |
