After four days, slain policeman reaches his native village Gundi Karnah

KUPWARA, Mar 5: The body of a slain policeman, Naseer Ahmad Kohli who was recently killed in an encounter with militants in Handwara was laid to rest today in his ancestral village in Gundi Karnah, frontier district of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
The body of a slain policeman, Naseer Ahmad Kohli, finally reached after four days to his native village Gundi Gujrain in Karnah.
Earlier the dead body of the slain policeman was brought in an army chopper to Sadhna top, but due to inclement weather, the chopper couldn't move further and went back to Srinagar, and finally he was again brought in a chopper at 11 am today.
Thousands of people from different walks of life reached Karnah to pay their last respect to the deceased policeman, adding the people of this border village have made many representations to the government for construction of tunnel at Sadhna Top, so that people will not face any difficulties.
However, amid sobs and tears, the women were seen beating their chests, as the deceased was very friendly and sociable person in this whole area, and finally the 38-years-old police constable Naseer Ahmad Kohli was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.
Noor Alam, cousin brother of the deceased while talking to early times said that, just forty days back the slain policeman lost his elder brother Shabir Ahmad Kohli, as he was suffering from some diseases.
The deceased is survived by almost ten members including old aged father and mother, his 4 years daughter, one and half months son, wife Shahnaz, another elder brother, Abdul Rashid Kohli and the family of late elder brother Shabir Ahmad Kohli, said Alam.
The late Naseer Ahmad Kohli S/O Shamsu-Ud Din Kohli R/O Gundi Karnah was very much interested to serve the nation, he was a brave guy and down to earth in all respects, be it a social matters, or family affairs, said cousin of the deceased.
He said that, the family has no source of income, and they have appealed the government to adjust next of the kins under SRO-147, and other compensation should be granted to the family members including the wife.
Pertinently in the three day long encounter that erupted between militants and security forces in Babagund area of Handwara, five security personnel including 3 CRPF and two policemen were killed, while as a civilian and two militants were also killed.
