| Fear of defeat makes Cong knock doors of PDP, NC | | LS Polls | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12: With the announcement of Parliamentary elections, Congress leadership is desperately trying to rope in two arch rivals-both National Conference and PDP to support its candidates in Jammu province to take on BJP.
Credible sources said that Congress is trying to form "Mahagathbandan" with the support in both PDP and NC in Jammu province only to ensure defeat of BJP candidates. Congress is only seeking support of both the parties for Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha seats where NC and PDP have nothing much on the stake.
Credible sources said that leaderships of both the Kashmir centric parties are averse of this formula but the real problem is emerging in Kashmir Valley where both the parties would fight against each other.
Credible sources said that some national level leaders, who have cordial relations with leadership of both NC and PDP, are trying to convince both the parties to support Congress on two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province. A senior politician of the country who is playing very important role to bring all anti-BJP forces on the same platform is working on the formula to get PDP and NC support for Congress candidates in Jammu province.
Sources said that NC leadership has already decided to enter into alliance with Congress in the Parliamentary elections but PDP leadership is still undecided because party does not want to give space to Congress in Poonch and Rajouri districts. |
