21st Senior State Kabaddi championships kicked off in Udhampur

Udhampur, Mar 29: Three day Senior State Kabaddi championship for Men and Women commenced today at Subash Stadium Udhampur, organized by Udhampur District Amateur Kabaddi Association under the banner of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association.
Dr. Piyush Singla IAS, District Development Commissioner Udhampur was the Chief Guest on the occasion and declared the championship open. The Chief Guest congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for smooth and successful conduct of the tournament and blessed the participants to perform best in the tournament. Rajiv Pandey IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur was the Guest of honour and Gurwinder Jeet Singh Addition Deputy Commissioner was special guest on this occasion.
On first day of the championship, in men's category J&K Police defeated Kathua by score of 30-20. In women's section Jammu defeated Udhampur by score of 53-19.
The tournament is being organized under the patronage of Sh. Anil Gupta, President J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and Sports J&K Govt. under the Chairmanship of Sh. Sheikh Tanveer Ahmed President Udhampur District Kabaddi Association and supervision of Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma General Secretary Udhampur District Kabaddi Association.
Among others who were present on the occasion were Sh. Rohit Gupta Dy. SP Headquarter, Sh. Vijay Choudhary SHO Udhampur, Smt. Isha Mahajan I/C Women cell, Sh. Kharati Lal Sharma DYSSO Udhampur,. Kuldeep Gupta CEO J&K Kabaddi Association, Surinder Mohan Gupta General Secretary J&K Kabaddi Association, Sangram Singh Treasurer J&K Kabaddi Association, Ankush Chib and Rakesh Kumar.
The prominent citizens who witnessed the opening match were Sh. Ravi Malguria President Chamber of Commerce, Sh. Sanjeev Sharma President Beopar Mandal, Sh. Raj Guru, Sh. Vikram Singh Salathia, Suresh Khajuria, Ravi Singh, Saktish Chopra Manager Subash Stadium Udhampur, Sh. Roshan Lal, and Dr. Vikram Gulati.
The matches were officiated by Ashwani Kumar, Bhim Sein, Kuldeep Sharma, Ajit Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Pushap Sharma, Rakesh Khajuria, Ramesh Chander, Naveen Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Vipin Photra, Amit Sharma, Pallavi Magotra and Ram Kumar (all the officials of Youth Services & Sports Department. While Sanjay Sharma was the coordinator of the tournament and Amit Sharma was commentator.
