SPMR organises Interactive Session on Tourism

JAMMU, Mar 29: Department of Management studies of Government S.P.M.R. College of Commerce organised interactive session on Tourism. The session started with brief introduction of tourism industry by Dr. Suvidha Khanna of School of Hospitality and tourism Management.
Dr. Manik Arora of SHTM elaborated on the prospect of tourism in the state as well as in the country at large. The session was attende by the students of BBA, BCA and B.com (Hons)
Prof. (Dr.) Anil Gupta Principal of the college highlighted the importance of tourism and said that it is an important sector which has an impact on development of the economy. He stressed upon the benefits of Tourism as income creator and generator of Job. He further added that for many countries it is the most important source of welfare. Thus it is very important to develop professionals of high calibre and ethics who would be able to meet the managerial level requirement of tourism and allied industries.
Prof. Bharti Slathia Head Department of Management studies welcomed the resource person and Prof. Suresh Sadotra presented vote of thanks. The faculty members present on the occasion included Prof. Goldy Mahajan, Prof. Jyoti Sharma and Prof. lekha Nagar. The session was coordinated by students Nandini Mahajan, Nikhita Kappor and Grisham Sharma
