USTA stages protest, highlights demands

Jammu, Mar 29: A large number of activists of J&K United School Teacher's Association (USTA) from differnet districts of Jammu region under the leadership of Hari Singh and Rajeev Kumar President and General Secretary respectively assembled near press club Jammu and staged strong protest demonstration to focus on long pending demands of Teaching Community. The protesters raised slogans in support of their demands
While addressing the protesters Provincial President strongly condemen the leckadaiscal, apathetic and callous attitude of the State Govt. has deteriorated the public Education System.
It is very unfortunate that Head Teachers and RReTs working under SAMAGRA have not been paid their 05 months salary and whole arrear of 7th Pay Commission. USTA expresses its strong concern over the denial of senior teacher grade to a large number of trained undergraduate teachers. USTA further expresses its great anguish over the unwanted delay in the process of regularisation of Incharge letcurers , headmasters an other officers. While addressing the gathering General Secretary said that it is highly diplorable that the large section of ReTs teachers who have completed their 05 years have not been regularized. USTA further calls upon the State Govt. specially advisors to the governer to take serious view of the situation on the ground and re-address the salary and other demands of teaching community otherwise USTA will be compelled to resort agitational path the responsibility of which will lie on the shoulders of the Government. Others who address the protest includes Roop Chand, Raj Kumar, Kanta Devi, Pardeep Singh, Sunil Thappa, Siraju Din, Bashir Hussain, Balwant Singh, Julf Kar Ali Malik, etc.
