SRINAGAR, Apr 24: In the age of science and technology, various villages including Ghari Panchayat of Ramban district is craving for basic facilities. The students of various government schools uses the wooden bridge to pass over the nallah, and the departments concerned are least bothered about any fatal incident. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Lone, Sarpanch Ghari panchyat told early times that, the Primary School Ghari was established in 1956, and was upgraded as Middle School in 2004. "There are 150 students enrolled but due to non seriousness from the authorities, the area has suffered a lot especially in the field of education, health and other sectors too.
"Around having a population of 2 lacs, Ramban district was always ignored on developmental front during the previous regimes, and locals alleged that the former MLA Neelam Kumar of BJP has also failed to bring any relief to the people of their constituency," he said.
He also said that, there is another school, Girls High School Kumate in Zone Batote of thesil Rajgrah in district Ramban, having an enrollment of around 200 students who are also suffering of basic facilities. According to the local resident that there is a stream that is famous by Dondahi Nalla, and students use to cross this steam round the year, and gushing water remains very high, due to which there are chances of any fatal accidents. Dondahi Nala Bridge has become crossing point not only for the students but for the local residents of these areas. "One can imagine the importance of this bridge as it also connects the people with Doda district. The government had allocated many funds for this constituency for the departments concerned have failed to utilize them for the betterment of the people," said the Sarpanch. The locals of this area said that, their district has been always ignored so for, the health sector is in bad conditions, viz a viz education, they don't have good roads, the qualified youth have been left unemployed and they believe as their area is not figuring anywhere in the map of Jammu and Kashmir. |
