Early Times Report
Doda, Apr 24: The emergency hospital at Pranu, Doda has only plinth which was laid ten years ago at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakhs. It seems, the government has failed to take up construction work.
Pertinently similar hospital for Khileni and Bhalla announced around the same time are operational
Details available with Early Times reveal that around 3 kanals of land was acquired by J&K Health Department for setting up of emergency hospital at village Pranu on Doda Baderwah road around 14 years back. The plinth for the hospital was laid in 2009-2010 but after the plinth work authorities at the helm of affairs forgot to construct the hospital building due to unknown reasons
"There are accidents off and on, on the Doda Baderwah road, with an aim of catering to these injured people Govt planned to set up hospital here in Pranu , but it seems Govt has forgot to go ahead with this project . Why was such a huge amount (Rs 15 lakhs) spent on laying of plinth if there were no plans to construct the hospital," said Farooq Ahmad Zargar local Sarpanch of Pranu district Doda
Pertinently there were several causalities at Pikayul Doda on Wednesday when a bus came under a huge debris. Road traffic accidents take place off and on in Kishtwar and Doda roads but authorities seem to be least bothered.
" We have a PHC that is housed in a private rented building , there is dearth of doctors , we have mere one single MBBS doctors , there is no medical assistant also " said Hisamudin Parray member of panchayat Pranu.
