Jammu, Apr 24: Despite giving sanction for one month additional salary in favour of government employees who performed election duties in Local Bodies and Panchayat in the State, the teachers of district Kathua are up arms against the concerned administration for its betrayal.
Sources told Early Times that continued delay on the part of Kathua administration has raised the eyebrow of the teachers' community which has now threatened to go offensive in support of their right by conducting Gherao of the Kathua Administration office. "Deputy Commissioner concerned has to certify in respect of an employee posted in his/her district that the employee concerned was actually deployed for conduct of Municipal/Panchayat Elections, 2018 or both, under a proper authorization/order and performed such duty without any break," they said further adding that it is beyond their understanding that as to why administration is making undue delay in release of one month salary.
They further said that District Administration had earlier assured to release the additional month salary before March 31, 2019 but it didn't release and later the teachers were again deputed on election duties of Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency.
"Some of the employees got injured and covered the long distance on foot to reach the polling stations in far flung areas like Bhandar, Dandi Guttu, Banjal Bhatwal , Jothana etc," they added. |
