Horrizon Eleven lifts Winter Shield T20 Cup

JAMMU, Apr 24: in the final match palyed today Horizon Eleven defeated Simula Cricket Club by wickets. Batting first Simula Cricket Club scored 162 runs in the allotted 20 over game for the loss of 7 wickets with Hinan 61 runs, Shashi 50 runs and Atul 13 runs. From the bowling side Manik took 3 wickets, Nawaz and Shohab took 2 wickets each.
In reply Horizon eleven chased the target in 14 overs for the loss of 2 wickets thus won the match by 8 wickets. Lakhan was the main scorer who scored unbeaten 80 runs , Nawaj 31 and majjid 26 were the other scorers. From bowling side Raman Dutta and Ritik shared 1 wicket.
Lakhan was declared man of match in final and best batsmen, Gora declared best Bowler and Shashi declared Man of the Series.
Sarmad Hafeez Commissioner Secretary department of Youth Services & Sports distributed the trophies among the runners up and winners in the valedictory function of "Winter Shield T20 Cricket Cup" in the presence of Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman Director General Youth Services & Sports, Dr. Naseem Choudhary Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra Sports Promoter, Mubashar Hasan Director State Cricket Academy, Ravi Singh Divisional Sports Officer Sports Council, Rajesh Dhar member JKCA and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer & former Ranji Player. The tournament was been organized by SCA-Sports Council J&K and the slogan of the tournament was "lets' play together and enjoy T20 Cricket". And the main objective of the event was to engage youths and students in sports so that they may not derail from the main stream and to provide a professional platform for them so that they can show case their hidden skills.
The Chief Guest Commissioner Secretary while interaction with the players assured them to organize more and more cricket tournaments for them in near future at Jammu. Vijay, Dyal and Janu were the officials whereas Rajesh Dhar conducted the proceedings of the valedictory function.
