Natrang's 11th theatre festival to begin today

Jammu, Apr 26: Natrang Jammu is going to organise 11th Theatre Festival of the year from Thursday, 27th of April, 2019 at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu in commemoration with the celebrations of 35 years of Natrang. Giving details Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed in a press conference here this evening at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. Accompanied by senior functionaries of Natrang viz Neeraj Kant, Sanjeev Gupta and Anil Tickoo, Director Natrang Balwant Thakur elaborated further that in connection with the celebrations of 35 glorious years of Natrang, the organisation isorganizing a 4 day theatre festival every month and since May, 2018 and 11th festival is starting from 27th April, 2019, featuring four theatre productions. With the completion of this festival Natrang will set an all-time record in the country of staging 44 different plays by the same group in 12 months.
The festival will open with the play 'Sevasadan' based on a story by Munshi Premchand, Adapted by Rakesh Kumar Gupta on 27th of April, 2019 .On 28th April, 2019, Hindi play 'Bishop Candle Sticks' will be presented. On the third day of Natrang Theatre Festival, Sadat Hasan Manto's play 'Karvat' will be showcased and on the last day of current festival i.e 30th of April, 2019 'Hawalat' written by Sarveshwar Dayal Sexana will be featured. All the plays will be staged at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni, Jammu at 5 pm daily under the direction of Neeraj Kant.
