Seema Devi, the Sarpanch from Jinder Panchayat of R S Pura constituency, urged the National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah to kick Dr Bhagat out of party. "Otherwise, people would reject NC in coming assembly polls."
"There are 23 Panchayats in Miran Sahib block. The elected representatives are fed-up with the former MLA, a rapist", she said, while narrating Monday's incident, wherein Dr Gagan alongwith his security guards in seen fighting with a Sarpanch during inauguration of new electric transformer in Raipur Gujran village of Jinder Panchayat.
"Being elected representative of the area, I was invited by the Power Development Department officials for inauguration of the transformer. As I reached there, in the meantime the ex-MLA also appeared there with his goons and started abusing us", she said, claiming that the former MLA has had not right to inaugurate a transformer.
"When I objected to his presence, it infuriated him and he trashed us", she said and added that a video captured on the occasion by some people went viral on the social media.
"Today we held a protest against Dr Gagan. The Sarpanchs from various Panchayats from RS Pura constituency, who were present there, in one voice sought removal of Dr Gagan from the NC. We also demanded action against him for assaulting an elected Sarpanch and also security for the Sarpanch", she said.
"Dr Gagan is a notorious criminal. The police should take action against him, as he has been involved in kidnapping a girl whose parents are running from pillar to post. The people smell his involvement in killing of a youth whose body was recovered after six months of his disappearance ", she alleged and added that he also spoiled life of his wife.
Meanwhile, RS Pura police have registered counter FIRs against Dr Gagan Bhagat and Sarpanch Seema Devi after they entered into altercation during inauguration of a power transformer on Monday.
