Seminar on Poshan Abhiyaan held at Govt. Polytechnic Jammu for Female staff and students

Jammu, Apr 30: Today a seminar on POSHAN ABHIYAAN was organized in Government Polytechnic College Bikram Chowk Jammu for the female staff and students of the college.
The seminar was conducted by Dr. Gurmeet Kour (Psychologist & Drug De-addition expert) and Ms.Divya Jamwal (Clinical Psychiatrist & Yoga Therapist) from Government Medical College, Jammu accompanied by Ms. Apoorvi Sharma (Founder of Fittnest Warrior).
Principal Er. Arun Bangotra was the chief guest on the occasion and in his welcome address he laid importance on the nourishment, wellness, physical and mental health of women.
The objective of the seminar was to educate the females about the importance of Yoga and their well-being in life.
Dr. Gurmeet Kour briefed the female staff and students about the growing competition among them due to which students are suffering from depression.
She educated them about different methods by which they can overcome this problem in this competitive world.
The seminar was followed by Rangoli and Poster competition organized by AMAR UJALA on the topic "Women Empowerment" in which female students from different department participated in the event.
First place in Rangoli competition was secured by the students of Basholi painting trade, while the students of Arts and Craft (CDTP) stood second and students of Electrical department stood third.
In poster making competition Anjili Chambyal (Basholi Painting Trade) won first prize, the second prize was won by Anjali Sharma (Art/craft trade) and third prize was shared between Aastha Kumari (Computer Engg Department) and Rizwana Hamid (Electrical Engg Deptt.) respectively.
The members of the organizing committee were Ms. Ritika Wadhera HOD Architecture Assistantship, Ms Vandana Chib, Ms Sakshi Kapahi and Ms Itika Sharma.
Other who were present on the occasion were Er Inderjeet Singh, Er Sanjay Gupta, Er K.S Bhatia, Er Sanam Gupta, Er Ajay Thapa, Er Jasdeep Kour, Er Akash Dasgotra, HODs, female staff and students of college.
