In order to enhance the athletic activities ‘World Athletics Day’ was celebrated with great zeal and fervor in MV International School premises today. Sh.Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor Youth Services & Sports Government of Lakshadweep was Guest of Honour.Sh Ashok Kumar, Zonal Physical Education and Sports Officer, Vijaypurwas present as Special Guest along with schoolprincipal Mr. K.L Dogra.
It was organised under the banner of British Council ISA activity.The eventwas declared ‘Open’ by the Guest of Honour. Energetic athletes from classes 1stto 11thdisplayed lot of confidence and spirit of sportsmanship as they competed with their peers in 50m, 200m, 400m, relay race, long jump, shot put etc. Nearly 100 medals were won by the best performers of the day.
Worthy Guests gave away the medals to the winners. Sh. Ranjeet Kalra, in his address appreciated students and teachers for celebrating World Athletics Day. Students of class 5thfrom Music Studio presented a melodious song and Gymnastics team displayed their skill in a well-coordinated presentation.Director of school congratulated the winners and participants for their performances and thanked the guests for their presence.
