Transparency continues to elude JKPSC's exams
'Uploads answer keys only after declaration of final results'

Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has so far failed to make the examination system for various gazetted posts completely transparent as it uploads the answer keys only after declaration of results, evoking criticism from aspirants.
Sources informed Early Times that the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) which conducted National Eligibility Test (NET) across the country had been uploading the answer keys, few days after the conduct of examination. They then called objections from the candidates along with references on the answer keys, after which they updated the answer keys and then declare the results. Such robust and transparent procedure had helped the CBSE to maintain the trust of candidates.
On the other hand the JKPSC which is conducting all the exams for gazetted services in the state have still following the old criterian, with lot of loopholes. "The conduct exams and do not upload the answer keys. They declare the final results of the exams, after which they upload the answer keys, which is of no use", an aspirant said, adding that recently they had taken exams for various posts in veterinary courses and once again they did not upload the answer keys.
"When a candidate has no option of evaluating the authenticity of answer keys of JKPSC, then how s/he would rely on them. By uploading the answer keys after final results, the JKPSC is only completing a formality", the candidate said, adding that due to such obscure procedure, time and again questions were raised by candidates but despite then, PSCdidn't emulate the procedure of national level recruitment agencies.
An official of JKPSC, pleading anonymity said that as per the conduct of Examination rules, the exams have been conducted and it was as per rules that answer keys were uploaded after completion of the exams.
