Poonch, June 14: The salaries of three BDOs have been put on hold allegedly over their poor performance in Poonch district an official said. ACD Poonch Abdul Qayoom Mir while confirming it said that the salaries of the three officers were put on hold on the directions of Director RDD Jammu. The officers include Block Medical Officers (BDOs) of Balakote, Mankote and Lassana. The actions to withhold the salaries of the three BDOs were taken over their poor performance in their respective blocks, he said. Two Technical Assistants of MGNERAGA and one JE have also been suspended and some GRS were attached with the ACD office, he said.
Meanwhile, Block Development Officer Mendhar has sought explanation from over a dozen employees over their alleged dereliction of duties. According to an order issued by the office of Block Development Officer Mendhar of which a copy lies with Early Times reads that BDO on 13-06-2019 it came to the observation of concerned BDO that fourteen Gram Sevak Rozgars (GRSs) which included; Aftab Ahmad, Rizwan Ali Mir, Tarranum Habiba, Naheem Akhter, Tazeem Akhter, Zahid Khan, Zaffar Iqbal, Shafayat Shah, Fareed Khan, Ajit Singh, Shabana Zafri, Hameeda Bi, Nazarat Hussain, Ghulam Mohuiddin, Javid Iqbal were absent in an official meeting at the office without any prior permission. The unauthorised absence, according to the order, tantamounts to their willful and gross negligence which warrants action. All the offenders are required to report office for explanation and accordingly improvement of performance under MGNAREGA, the order read. Any further violations of the government job policy or failure to perform duties in accordance to Government employee standards shall result in immediate dismissal without further warning, the order further read.
