Early Times Report
kishtwar, June 20: The Kishtwar police has so far not taken any action against a lecturer posted in Chatroo area who had repeatedly posted anti-India and pro-Pakistan material on Facebook.
As reported by Early Times in its 14-04-2019 edition, the lecturer, Irfan Butt, a resident of Figsoo Thatri and posted in Higher Secondary School Chatroo had spit venom on Facebook against the union of India. Besides, he was also involved in spreading religious hatred and pro-Pakistan agenda.
One of the shocking posts shared by Butt on the social media questions the martyrdom of the CRPF personnel in the Pulwama terror attack, terming it "a handiwork of Prime Minister of India."
"Black Day for us where #PMIndia gets his own soldiers killed and put country to war like situation #Shame -- # SayNoToWar-- #SayNoToModi," reads a post shared by the lecturer.
Continuing his tirade against the Modi government for Pulwama terror attack in which more than 40 CRPF were martyred, the lecturer posted another post abusing 'Indian media' for its coverage on release of captured pilot Abhinandan Varthaman. He also endorsed the anti-India tweet on Prime Minister of India and endorsed Pakistan PM Imran Khan's tirade against PM Modi and government of India.
The lecturer also promoted religious hatred through his Facebook posts. He also termed the Indian Air Force attack on terror camps in Balakot as "political drama."
The Kishtwar police was expected to act against the said lecturer and accordingly, senior police officials in Kishtwar had summoned him. But later it was decided not to act against him following political pressure as some of the politicians, according to sources, came to his rescue and termed his posts as "not too grave."
"Action could be avoided only in case where the accused person had strong backing, otherwise the case is fit for sedition," said the sources, claiming that the hint is enough for intelligent persons to understand the issue.
Meanwhile, the Education department too failed to initiate any action against the erring lecturer. When contacted senior officials in the department said that the matter is being looked into and assured departmental action "at right time."
