| Lorry Adda Ramnagar charges almost double prescribed rates | | |  Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, June 21: There is no adherence to the prescribed rates for vehicles parking at Lorry Adda in Ramnagar.
The victimised drivers informed Early Times that the goons have been involved in the work of collecting money and they charge as per their will giving receipts with different rates.
The Lorry Adda comes under the Municipal Committee Ramnagar which has given it to some contractor for a year.
Surprisingly the rates prescribed by the Municipality are not adhered to and the authorities are not doing anything in this regard.
Sohan Singh (name changed) a driver said if they say anything in this regard the persons collecting money misbehave.
Another victimised driver said that they are charged double of what has been prescribed by Municipal authorities of Ramnagar. For example as per municipal record, the rate of tax is Rs 20 for bus , 20 for truck 6 wheels ,30 for truck above six wheels , but private contractor receives RS 30 from bus , Rs 50 from truck above six wheels means 10 or 20 rupees extra charged from every innocent driver resulting thousands of rupees daily snatched from the innocent people .
